Big Train Operators (BTO) Convention

Who is ready for a convention?
The Big Train Operator Club’s annual convention is set and now is the time to make your reservations at the hotel. The convention this year will be in the Wilkes Barre/Scranton area of Pennsylvania from July 19-24, 2026.

The host hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Wilkes Barre. The room rate is $139 a night, double occupancy with breakfast and parking included. To make your reservations for your guest room, you may call the hotel directly at (570) 822-1011 and use Group Code “BTO”. Cut off date for hotel reservations is Friday, June 19, 2026.

The excursions will include the Reading and Northern Railroad – Passenger Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway; the The Stourbridge Line,Wayne County Historical Society museum, Cranker’s Collection of Mechanical Marvels and finally to Steamtown National Historic Site and the Electric City Trolley Museum in Scranton, PA.
